METIS WEALTH Match Review - Reserves Round 15 vs Palm Beach
RESERVES IN STRONG WIN
The Western Magpies Reserves had a strong win over Palm Beach-Currumbin, winning by 47 points, 14.14 - 98 to 7.9 - 51.
The Pies were without several regular players due to injury but were bolstered by the inclusion of several experienced players, including 3 players backing up from the Woodsmen on Friday night. The Pies held their own early, but in a dominant second quarter were able to take a strong half time lead and then take control in the second half to win comfortably.
Young speedster Jake Heard used his pace and deadly left foot to drive the Pies forward and young Redland listed ruckman Liam Dwyer continues to play well in his third game back from injury and capped a good day with 3 goals.
Matt Mazarolle has had a consistent year and just gets better each week, Gabe McKinnon across half back was again a fine player and must be well in the reckoning for Best and Fairest. Ben Hooper had another good game on half back and the wing and midfielder Bryce Crossley keeps motoring along to win plenty of the ball.
The Pies welcomed new Dad Chris Mihalopoulos to help out and he celebrated with 4 goals and Jim Power returned for a cameo to boot 2 goals.
