Westpoint Autos - Colts Review
Colts Maintain Winning Ways
The Colts hot run of form continued on the weekend as they dispatched the Labrador Tigers in the final home game of the season. Whilst the Colts lead from start to finish some inaccurate kicking and a drop in intensity kept the Tigers in the game. Throughout the second and third quarters scores were fairly tight, however, the much taller Tigers team couldn't manage to keep up with the run and gun style of the young Magpies as the game wore on.
Key forwards Jack Austin and Hamish Campbell were unstoppable in the air, leading hard, clunking marks and converting on the score board. They were ably supported by Abdullah Haddad, the returning Chris Jenkins and Max Webber who fought hard at ground level and were all able to hit the score board.
In the second half of the game the Mids picked up their intensity around the football and were able to hold sway. Jacob Sheath and Sam Hartog continued their rich vein of form and the the combination of Cal Grant, Noah Resuggan and Daniel Edwards on the wings is really starting to click.
The boys are really starting to embrace the challenge of the looming finals and are looking forward to playing the best in the business in Morningside this weekend in their final home and away match of the season.
