Ex Sherwood/Western Magpies player Jackson Allen has been named in the NEAFL Team of the Year at a gala function in Sydney last night.
Jackson joined Aspley this year and was named in a back pocket although he has spent most of the season on a back flank.
Jacko played for Sherwood at Under 16 level then played for the Western Magpies as a teenager in 2009-10 when the Pies were in the QAFL before joining Morningside in 2011 after the Pies went to the Pineapple Hotel Cup with the formation of the NEAFL.
He was then drafted by Gold Coast in 2012 and played 4 AFL matches for the Suns in 2012-13.
He then joined Sturt in the SANFL for two years before moving back to Queensland to link with Aspley in the NEAFL.
Aspley have finals coming up but he will take a close interest in the Magpies assault on the QAFL premiership with his brother Brady a senior Magpies player and Dad Craig the Pies Reserves coach this season.
