THE OPPORTUNITY

The Sherwood Football Club are seeking expressions of interest for Senior Coach & Assistants (Playing or non-playing) to head up the QFAW Senior Football Program for Season 2021 and beyond.

After making the preliminary final in 2020, the incoming coach will retain a playing list that is very committed to developing their level of football while at the same time embracing a fun and supportive off-field culture.

ABOUT YOU 

Highly collaborative and an effective communicator, you understand how to cater to all levels of football experience and background to create a fun and development focused environment.

You play a key role in driving an inclusive club culture where respect, accountability and enjoyment for the game is not compromised. You will bring a proven record of forging and maintaining positive relationships with a multitude of stakeholders in the wider football community.

An emphasis on fostering positive working relationships with youth pathways will be required including; mentorship of Youth Coaches within the football club, fostering whole of club integration between youth and senior players and collaboration with Sherwood Youth Girls Coaches & Managers.

OVERVIEW  

  • Coach the QFAW Senior Football Team (match day, training sessions, pre-season). 

  • Create a learning environment that develops the player's technical skills, physical attributes and overall football knowledge.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders of different backgrounds

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions

  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills

MANDATORY

  • Minimum of Level I or Level II coaching accreditation (or willingness to complete Level II)

  • Demonstrated leadership acumen 

  • Capability to nurture an inclusive club culture 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and support progression of talent

DESIRABLE

  • Previous senior coaching experience advantageous (male or female) 

  • Capacity to attract support staff and players that align with club values
