Vale - Heath Palmer

With the heaviest of hearts the Sherwood Football Club share the news of the passing of our greatest and most treasured supporter, the one and only - ‘Heathy’.
WIthout a doubt, the greatest exponent of a roaring rendition of ‘Good old Sherwood Club forever” - Heathy has been a constant presence at Sherwood for well over 30 years and a loyal supporter to the old Western Districts Football Club prior to that.
Heathy has supported and celebrated generations of Magpies, in fact he has witnessed players win senior Premierships and then celebrated with those players as their kids won Senior Premierships such is his longevity and loyalty.
It seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating his 50th Birthday in the clubhouse and then when he arrived at hospital in August, one of the things that brought a huge smile to his face was the news of each Magpie Premiership that came in on that brilliant weekend. Players and supporters shared the news with him via a private video we now share below and plenty of images celebrating his time are also shared below.
News of his funeral and a time to celebrate Heathy will be shared as it comes to hand.
He was a well known and popular figure with all opposition players and supporters and we will all miss him dearly.
Thanks to Hal, Helen & Esther and the extended Palmer family for sharing Heathy with our football family - he absolutely loved his footy, and fittingly, footy loved him back.
